Building a safer, healthier community by preventing and treating alcoholism and drug abuse.
This will be the adventure of a lifetime to experience the untouched wonders of Bhutan. Explore this exotic and exclusive country and support the Daniel Bryant Youth and Family Treatment Center!
This Summit for Danny experience offers a trip for everyone. The first itinerary option is Hiker’s Paradise, a cultural tour of Bhutan with active day hikes for those who want to explore the country while enjoying hotel stays and moderate hiking. The second option is Sacred Summits, a trek in Bhutan to Chomolhari and Jitchu Drake Base Camps, a more rigorous climb including camping and climbing to an elevation of 13,268 feet. Both trips leave on October 8, 2007 and return October 20, 2007. For detailed itineraries and cost information about the individual trips please use the following links.
This is how it works: Each traveler pays for the entire cost of their trip out of their own pockets. Additionally, each traveler must raise $1,500 (minimum) in donations for the Summit for Danny / Daniel Bryant Youth & Family Treatment Center. The travelers invite family, friends and colleagues to share in this experience by donating to the climb and/or pledging a designated amount for every level the climber reaches … as the climbers reach their goals, money is raised to help the youth of the Daniel Bryant Center reach their goals-to conquer their personal challenge with drug and alcohol abuse. Clearly, the Summit for Danny is a cause that touches many lives/many households … we appreciate your financial support!
The first Summit for Danny was in 2000 to Mt. Kilamanjaro and raised nearly $500,000. We hope to exceed that amount this year as we have received a challenge grant by an anonymous donor who will match the donations received for this year's Summit for Danny. This is a unique opportunity by which to raise enough money to purchase a permanent facility for the Daniel Bryant Youth & Family Treatment Center.
We hope you will join us in our quest to raise $350,000 and more to purchase the Daniel Bryant Youth Center building. On behalf of the staff, Board of Directors, the many volunteers, Bob and Patty Bryant and the youth and families served by this treatment center--thank you for your support!

On May 23, 1995, Bob Bryant's son Danny died of a drug overdose. Like many other parents who have suffered the loss of a child to drugs, alcohol and other substance abuse, Bob was determined to turn his tragedy into hope for others by raising funds to create an adolescent treatment center. The DBY&FTC is a program of the Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, providing safe, effective outpatient treatment for young people who are struggling with alcohol and other drug problems. |
